James White plays the soprano, alto, and tenor saxophones, the clarinet, and the flute. James' 25 plus years of playing music began in the Newark public school system. At the age of 17, he received a young artist award from Governor Thomas Kean. James also has played at the Showtime at the Apollo. James' educational credits include studying the classical clarinet with Phil Russo at the Hartt School of Music, and studying jazz with the legendary jazz artists Jackie McLean, Grachon Moncour III, and Duke Anderson. James has performed with many other jazz artists, such as Jimmy Scott and Leo Johnson. James has recorded and performed with various gospel artists from Alvin Slaughter, Angel Garrett, and the Christ Church Choir. James shares his gift of ministry regularly at churches throughout the Tri-State area. James loves his roots, and gives back to his hometown by teaching music to Newark youth.
