Biography
When asked the typical question, "who does your band sound like?", evenstar
usually responds with the same answer. They will tell you they just like to write the type of music they like to hear. You could put evenstar on tour with
just about anyone from Jimmy Eat World to U2, and just about everyone in between.
Established in NYC in mid 2001, the band set out playing
venues throughout New England in support of their debut acoustic album Searchlight. evenstar quickly
established themselves on the NYC circuit with their strong writing sensibilities and incredible live shows.
It was also during this time that they fine-tuned their sound while building a devoted fan base along the way.
Following the initial buzz, the band followed-up with an electrified release, aptly named Amplify, in 2002.
Gigging regularly up and down the east coast the band continued to increase and strengthen their ever-growing fan base.
After the success of their latest EP; bad luck yesterday, in early 2004, the band released a free EP
entitled Hello My Name Is?. This effort is, thus far, the epitome of their signature mix of melodic songwriting
and powerful harmonies. The ear-catching songs will reel you in and leave you begging for more.
Combine that with the band's high-energy live performances, and it is easy to see why evenstar continues to win over fans everywhere, everyday.
