Beginning a new, and wiping away the ashes of an end, the
optimism, charisma, and constant effort of this power-rock quartet is soon to make an imprint in the music industry for years to come. Hailing from the western suburbs of Chicago,
IL, in their first half-year of existing, Facing Forward has much to say about the ways they have developed. Although early on, the band has been lucky enough to have had
many opportunities most bands will not see in their existence. Facing Forward has played alongside major record label recording artists such as Alterbridge,
Submersed, Silvertide, and Lucky Boys Confusion. The band has appeared at many of the Chicago region's top venues such as The METRO, and the Canopy Club in front of
thousands of people. But this has not come easy. Only hard work and determination has carved their way to where they stand now, and where they will be in the years to come.
The story.....
After complications arose within Joey's previous band, he parted ways and decided to
move on. He would wait until the perfect band would come along to make his life's dreams a reality. Ryan Greshock and Eric Willes had been only 20 miles away, busy
with their yearlong run with the previous Facing Forward. After several disputes, the band parted ways and Ryan and Eric were left in the dust; or so they thought.
They received word that Joey was without a band and interested in the filling the slot of their drummer. The three members met, played, and the "click" was
instantaneous. After their first practice, the dust cleared and Facing Forward reemerged
The band began to write music nonstop until they entered a home-studio to cut a
very rough demo to start distributing to the public. The band played out at many small venues and clubs to start spreading their name. They also ventured to many
other shows to push the Facing Forward name into the hands of the Chicago music fans. After developing a solid sound and a decent following, the band decided that it would
be beneficial to add another guitar player. Who better than Colin Greshock, 15 year old guitar prodigy and brother of vocalist/guitar player, Ryan Greshock.
After only two short rehearsals, Colin was debuted at a small acoustic show. The show
went extremely well and Colin clicked like he had been a part of the band from the very beginning. Facing Forward had it's first taste of what it felt like to be a
"real" band on Halloween of 2004. The band played a battle of the bands competition in front of 700 plus individuals and walked away with the first place prize and sold
completely out of every piece of merchandise they brought. This was the climax for Facing Forward, and the new lineup was solid and in full effect.
Since then, Facing Forward has been constantly climbing upward. Working harder and
with more passion than ever, there is nothing that will stop these young men from doing whatever it takes to get to the top. With every performance, Facing Forward
pours out their heart and soul with every drum hit, guitar riff, and soaring melody. This band will do all in their power to put their music and their message into the hands
of everyone they meet. The band will continue to push their way "up" in their music industry to achieve the dream they have all lived to see. In their minds and
their hearts, they will always be, Facing Forward.
