Micah Wetzel grew up in Rochester, MN, where he was first introduced to music with the trumpet in 5th grade. Ever since winning the high school talent show, the 21 year old has had a passion for music. He performed in his high school jazz band all 4 years and participated in many other music oriented programs. Although he played trumpet all throughout high school, it wasn't until his freshman year of college that he picked up the guitar. Teaching himself everything he knows to this day, Micah, like most, started out learning covers but quickly progressed to writing his own material.

He now attends South Dakota State University where he focuses on his guitar playing and singing/songwriting. Although he sings now, he was never in a choir of any sort.

"I wanted to be able to sing and play at the same time. If I wasn't able to do that I wouldn't have kept going with the guitar. It's really been a learning process for me considering I had done neither in my past," Micah exclaims.

Just after his first year of college he started performing shows which he continues to do to this day. He's played for opening acts, coffee houses, restaurants, and to crowds of over 300. Very quickly original songs became a must for Micah's performances and now he has well over an hour's worth of original material. He is currently working on his first "real" demo which is a compilation of his studio and homemade recordings. "I had a lot of poor quality demos which were simply live recordings that I'd throw onto CD's just to get myself out there. They worked, but I felt like I wasn't getting the full potential out of my songs. So I decided it was time I got something serious out there." With his first real demo coming out soon, Micah hopes to appeal to a larger fan base and grow as a musician.
