Created in the spring of 2002, Yamama'Nym has meteorically risen and claimed a regional and growing national distinction of being not just another band spewing from the Baltimore/DC music scene, but being one of its most promising best live Soul acts, hands down. Hand picked by Tre Barr (producer/writer) and Dennis Turner (music director/bass player), Yamama'nym, was formed as an collective of eclectic musicians and vocalist with diverse musical backgrounds. Combining sultry southern soulful sounds with a touch of uptown Jazz and downtown R&B swagger, healthy servings of soul, and pinches of divinity, Yamama'Nym is headed in the right direction. With exceptionally vibrant vocalists, and perhaps some of the best live musicians in all the land, Yamama'Nym evoke feelings of 70's nostalgia and New Millennium attitude with their youthful appearance, yet seasoned performances, often being compared to acts of past and present the way they bring the overall Yamama'Nym experience to fans. Over the past year and a half, they have played on many stages abroad and have left their signature "Soulful" style sticking to the noggins of unsuspecting audiences. Staying hungry and humble, paying their dues Yamama'Nym travels the map to bring 'real' music to those who have been longing for it. With Yamama'Nym's highly acclaimed debut album "2A.M."(Outta Control Entertainment 2003) reaching the hearts and minds of Soul aficionados in the U.S. over to the Canary Islands, from the U.K. to Japan the band's strengths of Soul, R&B, Jazz and Hip Hop help drive their musical vision to an ever expanding and embracing audience. 'It is a perfect blend of soul and jazz. It's what's been missing from today's popular R&B' (fan, cdbaby.com). Now with the sophomore album under way the band has kept it's definition and at the same time upgraded and fine tuned. The 2nd  project, titled  "Due Time", (expected to be released early 2005) has added funkier up tempo songs, with the signature mid tempo grooves and new soul touching ballads. The music moves with pulsating rhythms by Marcus  Jackson on drums and Dennis Turner on bass combined with melodies by Samuel Prather on keys. And adding the finishing touch, dynamic vocal blessings of veteran Alison Carney along with newcomers J Hill, Liz  Miller, and K.J. Dennis (doing double duty on second keyboard and vocals) . This release presents the group's creative, innovative, and groundbreaking style that will further open "Mama's House" and invite the world to sit down and take a real good listen to Yamama'Nym.
